Trusting

Trusting someone means that you think they are reliable, you have confidence in them and you feel safe with them physically and emotionally. Trust is something that two people in a relationship can build together when they decide to trust each other. Trust is defined as to have confidence, faith or hope in someone or something. An example of trust is believing that the sun will rise in the morning. In order to have a good friendship you need to be able to trust the person. Without trust we won’t have friends and be able to be open about things in life.

A Friend Is

A friend is a heart full of love

A warm place to go

A supportive hug

A non-judgemental soul

A happy-to-see-you smile

When you drop in

To visit for awhile

A friend is accepting

Of flaws and fears

Lending their wisdom and their ears

Always listening with concern

 And drying our tears

When we’re tired and hurt

A friend is you

It’s who you are

So warm, so caring,

With a giving heart

And I’m so glad,

More than I can say

To have you as a friend

Everyday.

  • Mobi World

Blurb

This poem is about best friends that go through everything together help each other no matter what. This poem was written by Mobi World and had 3 stanzas & 21 lines. I think the message behind this is that your best friend is the one person your so comfortable with you can talk about anything, you are constantly talking to them and they will never do anything to hurt you. It contains metaphors, hyperboles, and rhyme scheme. An example of a rhyme scheme from the poem is “A friend is accepting, Of flaws and fears, Lending their wisdom and their ears, Always listening with concern, And drying our tears, When we’re tired and hurt”. This is stanza 2 and the rhyming words are “fears, ears, & tears”. These are all describing how a friend/best friend should be.

A Peculiar Bond

It isn’t the red ribbon

That binds us together

The root that unifies us,

Does not derive

From a tree on the wall

This bond knows no genetics.

Friendship is a peculiar seed.

No matter the season,

The weather,

Nor the time of the day;

When planted on a nourishing soul,

It will always bear fruit

  • Clairel Estevez

Blurb

This poem is about friendship that can’t be broken. The friendship is so pure and natural that nothing could affect it. This poem was written by Clair Estevez and has 3 stanzas & 12 lines. It contains metaphors as well as personification. An example of a metaphor from the poem is “the root that unifies us” in line 3 of the poem. It is saying that their bond is like a root, very strong and can’t easily be broken. I you have a true friend then they will stay your friend no matter the distance between you two.

Surreal

It’s pathetic, isn’t it? How she continues to hand her heart to any

Man who shows her a hint of affection. You’d think she would’ve

Learned by now from the endless cycle of disappointment

And deception.

-Klaus Mikaelson

Blurb: She continues to look for the right man for her. Someone t love her, someone to share her happiness with, her experiences, a lifetime with. Even though man after man she has failed to find her soulmate, she still hopes and keeps faith one day she will find one. Time after time, men have disappointed her, treated her wrong, taken her for granted, not realizing what they had but lost. But whenever someone shows a slight interest of affection, she believes he may be the one.

Hollow

Hollow

Emotions.

Do you feel them?

She was numb and frozen,

Yet it dimly sparkled like a dying gem.

Broken.

Do you know what that feels like?

Piercing explosions,

Burning afflictions,

Hollers of agonizing cries.

She had nothing left inside.

Eyes closed,

Heartbeat stopped,

Barely alive.

She was a hollow shell.

Into an endless oblivion she fell,

Pitch black and nearly brain dead.

There was nothing in her life ahead.

Passion.

Why is it so strong?

She was deprived from it.

Devils had done her heart way too many wrongs.

Killed was the lust,

Lost was the temptation.

Love.

Why is it so painful?

Once crystal clear and beautiful,

Now a turned poison from what was as pure as golden dust.

She wanted nothing to do with it.

Not long ago it had made her bleed.

Hidden thorns

On her skin that burned.

She was a hollow shell.

Into an endless oblivion she fell.

Pitch black and nearly brain dead.

There was nothing in her life ahead.

Eyes opened,

Tears flowed,

Standing in front of a mirror,

Watching as she wholly became hollow.

-Fathimath L. Ahmed

Blurb: This poem is separated into 4 categories; Emotions, Broken, Passion, and Love. It’s four in one. In the emotions stanza, it was about the author not being able to feel anything. In the broken stanza, the author was using imagery to relate to the feeling at that time. In the passion stanza, she felt it it was strong. in the love stanza, the author mentioned it being so painful, like a “Not long ago it had made her bleed. Hidden thorns. On her skin that burned” as stated in the poem.

Betrayal is Hard

Betrayal. Betrayal means “an act of deliberate disloyalty,” like when your friend told other people all your secrets. Betrayal is the breaking or violation of a presumptive contract, trust, or confidence that produces moral and psychological conflict within a relationship among st individuals, between organizations or between individuals and organizations. Betrayal is when someone you trust lies to you, cheats on you, abuses you, or hurts you by putting their own self-interest first. Betrayal as loss. Betrayal is probably the most devastating loss a person can experience. … When an individual is betrayed by someone, they lose trust in that person.

A Blind Relationship

I wanted him in the bluntest way. I

Wanted his lips, his hands, his arms. I

Wanted him the way the ocean wants

The shore, constantly reaching and running

Back. I wanted him the way rain wants to

fall, the way the sun wants to shine, the way

The words want to be read. I wanted him to

Infinity, to the millionth degree, no amount

Of rain could douse the fire I had in me for him.

-j.c.

Blurb: She wanted him in the most bluntest way. She missed him so much. She missed his lips, his touch, his looks, his smell, everything about him. The comparison the author used between “I wanted him the way rain wants to fall, the way the sun wants to shine, the way the words want to be read” just shows how much she lusted for him. This contributes to the theme “People” because people can split into so many categories, like for example, their experience, which is heartbroken, as one of them.
